Teenage boy sneezes in girl’s scarf

USING public transport might be a nightmare as one smartly dressed girl recently found out. The girl, who was aboard an Aburi Trotro last week, not only abandoned the Trotro, but threw away her scarf after a boy sneezed into it.

The incident occurred in Madina,  when the flu-laden boy used the scarf to wipe his nose.

The boy who looked to be in his early teens had ran out of options after trying in vain to hold back and pulled the scarf, which hung over the girl’s shoulder and blew his nasal contents into it.

His mum, who was carrying two other kids, just smiled as the boy tossed the scarf back to the shocked girl. She quickly unwrapped the scarf and tossed it out of the window as if it was a time bomb.

She abandoned the Trotro a few minutes later, when the boy started sneezing again. Other passengers threatened to follow suit until the conductor forced the boy’s mother to improvise and use her baby’s shirt as a hankie.

Worshipper gives meat as offertory

BEING a harvest period according to the Anglican Church norms, an unidentified worshiper offered two kilogrammes of meat as his offertory recently.

This happened at a church in Tarkoradi. According to the church tradition, offertories in form of tangible materials are converted into cash by auctioning them after service. The church leader, who conducted the service had to perform the usual task of auctioning the items.

After selling a basket of fruits, the man of God brought a black rubber (polythene bag) and said: “This is meat, give it a price”.

The worshippers burst into laughter. The Reverend waited for the first bidder in vain. “How sure are we that it is beef,” one worshipper whispered.

With no one willing to buy the meat, the Reverend returned it to the altar. A closing prayer was then said and the team walked out of the church leaving the meat at the altar.
